Welcome and thanks for
being here! I am Brad Gilbert, Master of Medical Qigong. My wife
Lori Gilbert, Licensed Acupuncturist, is the editor and a contributor
to our newsletter.
This month's topic: Follow
through with it
Wow! Some of you have made changes in your
lives
that have been surprising. (See our
March
E-Newsletter about Following your life path) You may now be
experimenting
with a new way of organizing your business, or hobbies that have the
potential
to work better than they have before. Just remember that
whatever
you do that is new, successful or not, it puts you in a new direction
and
opens you to new possibilities. I remember when we, Lori and I, were
taking
advanced training in EFT, with the founder of EFT Gary Craig, that he
showed
us a movie about a boy from a little hick town that wanted desperately
to
play football for a famous college and he had no idea how he would get
there.
The odds were against him all the way, but he had the faith to pursue
his
dreams. Now I gotta tell you I am no football fan, but this was a great
story
about what can happen when you follow your dreams! Life
is a
journey
not a destination.
Take yourself seriously, but not to seriously. DO what you can to
follow
through with your new ways. Maybe the new ways are just a new outlook
on
what you have been doing all along. After a while having the
same job can get old, but when you see how you have been contributing
to something
bigger than yourself you can see what you are doing in a whole
different
light; or a new direction all together.
Fear. The most powerful force in the universe -- until you have tamed
it.
Like a wild Bengal Tiger you cannot shove it under your bed at night
and
hope it does not wake you up! (Hope I am not creating any nightmares
for
you :<0
It takes time, patience and the right tools to break through your fear
that
stops you cold in your tracks, and you don't make the next move. Oh!
You
were so close, what happened? It is time to make the move but you don't
want
to just push through the Bengal Tiger, remember this is a Big Animal,
if
you push though it now it may bite you in the %$##$@*! when you are not
looking!
Emotional Freedom Techniques, EFT, is the best technique I know to heal
this
fear, and stop it from coming back.
Questions
and Answers
Q: "How do I know I have found the best thing
for
me this time? I get so frustrated trying new ways."
A: Life is an experience. Sometimes what is stopping
you
from your highest potential is you have not tried to think out of the
box enough. Maybe even something so far out that "people
would think I am crazy." You have special gifts. Sometimes our
Divine
Source challenges the hell out of us because we have not let ourselves
be totally who we are. When we block ourselves from sharing
all of our gifts we may not find that missing piece that could bring it
all
together.
Q: "I have many abilities / things I am good at, but
I
feel like I am a .......and a master of none."
A: Let me reveal something to you. I took singing
lessons
for 10 years. As the years rolled by I wondered why I took these
lessons for
so long. What was the benefit? Years later I was taking Qigong (Chi
Kung)
classes -- a form of Chinese exercise that combines the use of specific
postures,
regulated breathing, and metal focus -- and it dawned on me. I was able
to
do the deep abdominal breathing, also called diaphragm breathing, very
well
from the beginning, and many of the exercises included making specific
sounds,
or tone resonations. I was able to do the sounds very well too. Why?
Because
of my singing lessons! Thank you Diane Fuller -- my singing teacher.
The point is ... you may be using many of your talents
simultaneously
without knowing it.
Q: "I am comfortable where I am, mostly. Why
would
I want to rock the boat."
A: I know of way to many people who are now in there
60's
and 70's who "stuck with it" and they wanted the security that the job
gave
them. They look back now, knowing that they did not like there job of
25
years, maybe even hated it, and for some reason they feel cheated,
humm.
Don't get me wrong, I know that security is important, but feeling that
did
your life's work makes life worth living. So you have to compromise.
There is nothing wrong with sticking it out with your government job
with
the pensions, good health benefits, etc. Just as long as you can look
back
10 - 20 years from now without regret, or you have some other outlets
for
your creativity.
Secret of the month:
Instructions: tap on the side of your hand, the fleshy part just below
the
base of your small finger. Keep tapping as you say the following.
"In my Heart I know what I need to do, I have the skills the talent,
and
the knowledge to get me where I need to go. I love and accept the
choices
I have made and I know I continue to do the right thing for myself and
my
family."
Fantasies
are more than substitutes for unpleasant reality; they are
also dress rehearsals, plans. All acts performed in the world begin
n the imagination.
Barbara Grizzuti Harrison, American author and
publicist
Let
me share this secret with you:
The purpose of life, after all, is to live
it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without
fear for newer and richer experience.

Roosevelt
